Went in early dec, not much flowers to view, hence the word hua hai is kinda misleading. Area not that big, the farm house is not opened, the whole place is so dead quiet without much life nor activity. Perhaps it is off peak season and a weekday? Not much info about the flowers there too. Just walked and enjoy the cool weather, had lunch at the restaurant den left. Keen to visit? Better check out first or you will be disappointed.

Reputed for the beautiful fields of seasonal flowers and being the largest farm in North Taiwan, Ta Shee Blooming Oasis is a popular filming site of Taiwanese idol dram such as “Green Light Forest,” “My Secret Garden 2,” Wedding Dress of Heaven,” “In Love of Fragrance,” “Fighting Kings,” etc. There is also a restaurant where one can enjoy herbal cusine or an afternoon tea, or participate in some DIY activities organised by the farm. Or you can arrange for a BBQ with your friends here too.For more details, read http://spunktitud3.wordpress.com/2013/03/26/taiwan-daxi-%E5%A4%A7%E6%BA%AA/

We went there in Dec 12 while we were on our way to Daxi Old Town. The wind was so strong and cold when we were at the aprk. I am one who loved flowers. What I can said was the flowers was not so great but overall a different kind of experience from other country. We cannot compared by judging what we have seen before but can only enjoy what already there for us to view. The surrounding was pleasant and quiet partly during weekday so we can really enjoy ourselves strolling around the park. If too crowded I don't think you will be able to enjoy. Our driver told us that the flowers that planted in the park was base on the season. I guessed different season you will be experience different type of flowers. Do take note that there was an entrance fee when you visit the park.

The place is pleasant for family to visit and take photos with the flowers landscape. The background with the mountains and buildings are worth taking photo too. However, some parts of "park" are quite empty perhaps due to the season. The buildings and facilities are not really well maintained. I think some of the photos in the website are taken during good seasons. It may be better to go during weekday as the weekends are crowded with more expensive entrance fee. There are limited eating places and shops but the ice-creams are great.Overall, it is a little on the expensive side for a short walk in a "park". However, if you love flowers, it may just worth it.

After reading some of the 4-star and 5-star reviews here, I was expecting a lot more. Not much to see here. The park is not well kept and looks run-down. The bridge is certainly big, but not spectacular. It's hardly worth the trip to see this average park. I've seen much more beautiful parks in Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Some flowers. Not worth the visit. A little run-down. Not much you can do there.

We had a lovely morning stroll in the park, smelling the blossoms and taking photos. There weren't many people around (only 2-3 other families) and my kids enjoyed chasing each other up and down the lanes, making funny faces. The park also has a small animal farm enclosure, with rabbits, ponies and goats to feed. You can purchase the feed in the farm's retail shop, but do call and check the operating hours beforehand. The park is open from 8.30am, but the shop was still closed when we're there at 9.30-10am. We had to call the enquiry line twice before they sent someone to man the store. There is also a restaurant in the park, but the food is nothing to rave about.Overall, we had an enjoyable morning. Do bring your kids if you are in the area, or visiting nearby Daxi Old Street.
